Mother Teresa Named A Saint As Thousands Of Fans Gather Outside The Vatican

Like an angel receiving her wings, Mother Teresa has been named a SAINT! Pope Francis made the official declaration during a canonization mass held at the Vatican, where thousands of fans gathered to praise the late nun for her immense charity work. 

We’re wiping tears of happiness away from our cheeks, knowing Mother Teresa‘s kind heart has not been forgotten. The late nun dedicated her life to helping India’s poor communities, and has now been declared a SAINT for all her charitable work. Thousands of fans gathered in the Vatican on Sept. 4 to hear Pope Francis‘ speech, in which he stated, 

“Blessed Teresa of Calcutta to be a saint.” The ceremony, known as a canonization, drew an emotional crowd of nuns and pedestrians alike from around the world. Hundreds of nuns collected in the Vatican to support their former ‘Missionaries of Charity’ sister, 19 years after she passed away.

Held at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City, a huge applause broke out from the audience as Pope Francis began the ceremony — with a portrait of Mother Teresa hanging on display from the Basilica. Credited as the curer of the sick, Mother Teresa dedicated her life to helping those diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and leprosy.

She founded the Missionaries of Charity group, whose influence spread to over 130 countries and included of over 4,000 sisters who helped run soup kitchens all over the world. Her charity group also provided counseling programs for children and their families. Mother Teresa stood by the vow to provide “wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor.” What a lady.


The Macedonian-born nun received multiple awards throughout her life, including the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize, but being recognized as a saint the day before the 19th anniversary of her death is the most heart-warming accomplishment yet.
