A report by the Economic Confidential Magazine has detailed how two ministers in President Muhammadu Buhari cabinet at each other’s neck over the control of the budgets
The fierce rivalry between both ministers and their ministries stem from the claims by both parties on who should superintend the budget processes and implementations in the country.
The rivalry has allegedly created confusion among officials of other ministries and parastatals with regards to which of the ministries to consult on grey areas in the preparation and implementation of the budget.
The development has already has brought about friction between both ministries and eliminated the harmony required to put up a forward looking national budget.
The ministry of finance was said to have created three new departments to play critical roles on budget implementation in order to bypass the Ministry of Budget and National Planning
