Furious I’m A Celebrity viewers demand an apology from Ant and Dec .....

..... after the hosts sparked outrage by playing the Last Post as a joke just weeks after Remembrance Sunday

I’M A Celebrity viewers have demanded an apology from Ant and Dec after accusing the hosts of disrespecting the war dead by playing the Last Post as a joke.

Ant mimed the famous bugle song to mark the departure of contestant Larry Lamb, and fans flocked to social media to express their disgust over the stunt.

Larry was booted from the jungle on Thursday night, and Ant and Dec joked around as his departure played out.

Dec said: “Come on, lets stop overreacting guys, lets keep Larry’s departure in perspective.”

Ant then pulled out a brass instrument and mimed the Last Post, which is traditionally played at military funerals and to commemorate those who have died in battle.

The stunt caused a storm online, and fans are now demanding an apology from the pair.

Many have branded the joke "insensitive", disrespectful" and "tasteless".

One viewer took to Twitter to write: "@imacelebrity @antanddec #ImACeleb surely your now going to apologise live for using the last post to aid your joke about larry lamb???"

Another added: "I am so sickened by Ant and Dec on tonights show, how dare they use the Last Post as part of a joke, shameful disrespect for Our forces."

One tweeted: "@antanddec @ITV @imacelebrity did you honestly think that using the last post as a gag was funny, totally disgusted."

Another added that the stunt came way too soon after Remembrance Sunday last month.

They tweeted: "@antanddec I love you two so much but using The Last Post as a joke is too far. Especially so soon after Remembrance Sunday."
