PIERS Morgan poured cold water over Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt’s I’m A Celeb victory, raising eyebrows over her showbiz status and revealing he had “never heard” of the TV star.
He raised his eyebrows as the Channel Four star was crowned winner of the ITV reality show last night.
On today's Good Morning Britain he opened the show and said: "I don't know anything about her, this Scarlett Moffatt character.
"Someone I've never heard of with other people I've never heard of walking about TV has won I'm A Celebrity, therefore becoming a celebrity."
Piers added he enlisted the help of The Sun's website to get clued up on Scarlett, 26.
In our round-up, we referenced her comment when she referred to a picture of David Cameron as former newspaper man Piers.
Continuing his rant about her stint Down Under, he said: "I can't believe she's in there either - what's she in there for?"
Co-host Susanna Reid jumped in and said the bubbly Newcastle lass had become a star for being on the TV in her own right, to which he replied: "She's not a superstar though is she?"
He said: "I'm not sure what it says about the world when someone who is famous for watching TV wins a TV show."
Last night, she was hailed winner of the reality show by hosts and fellow Geordies Ant and Dec.
Breaking down in tears after the news was announced, Scarlett said: “I’m dizzy, I can’t believe it. Oh my god. Never did I ever think this would happen ever!”
