Mum, 25, left with two broken legs after being thrown 10ft off her ROOF by attacker who broke in as she slept

A TERRIFIED mum has told how she was left with TWO broken legs after she plunged 10ft from her roof onto concrete in a horrific attack.

Millie Butt, 25, was asleep in bed when “local man” Scott Baird, 26, who she’d “known for years” broke into her home.

The full-time mum to Kayne-Lewis, 3, and Konrad-Lei, 2, climbed out of her bedroom window onto her porch to escape, but Baird followed her.

In the sickening attack, he then grabbed Millie by the hair and beat her on the roof before she tumbled 10ft onto concrete as horrified neighbours looked on.

Speaking from her home in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, Millie said she still suffers flashbacks to harrowing ordeal and was forced to move to a new home in fear of her attacker.

“My legs buckled and twisted beneath me as I fell, it was horrific,” she said.

“I was told I was lucky to be paralysed but I didn’t feel lucky. I was wheelchair-bound for six months and had flashbacks to what happened.”

While Millie awaited surgery for two broken legs, her attacker’s sister Karen Baird, 27, called and threatened to burn her house down if she pressed charges against the family.

But the brave mum ignored the threat and Scott Baird pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm.

Karen also admitted sending malicious communications designed to cause distress and anxiety at Taunton Crown Court.

And Millie, who faces more agonising surgery in the future and often has to use a wheelchair, said she still does not know why she was attacked.

“I have no idea why they targeted me but it’s a huge relief they’ve been punished,” she said.

Scott Baird was jailed for 18 months while his sister was given a nine-month suspended sentence, along with community service.

Millie tells how Scott and Karen Baird were “known troublemakers” in Shepton Mallet and she’d lived near the pair for years.
