Police Arrest Man Selling Adulterated Vodka Drinks and Alcohol In Lagos - Video

A Nigerian man has been arrested for allegedly manufacturing and distributing a fake alcoholic beverage.

Ugochukwu Alozie was arrested while producing fake 'Johnnie Walker Red Label' mixing other chemical with  a local alcoholic beverage (Ogogoro) in an underground building  and selling them to the public.

Producing fake alcohol is being seen as a way of making money and it can be bought cheaply. However it’s a big problem because of the risks it poses to people’s health, it can cause anything from nausea to blindness and even death.


Drinking alcohol containing these chemicals can cause nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, drowsiness and dizziness. It can also lead to kidney or liver problems and even coma. Methanol, a substance which can be used in fake vodka, may cause permanent blindness.

For the safety and comfort of Nigerian people , If you think you’ve drunk fake alcohol, the best thing to do is to seek medical advice. You can also report it to your local environmental health officer. Watch video below:
