Governor Umahi Bars Party Logos, Symbols As Buhari Visits Ebonyi

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has barred party logos and symbols during the official visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the State beginning from Today, November 14.
In his address to newsmen on the eve of the State Visit, Governor Umahi said the decision was to give respect to the president.

He said: “Nobody should come to the stadium with any party logo. We don’t want to embarrass the president. If we invite the president for a state visit and PDP rolls out their logo, it is an embarrassment to Mr President.
“It is a Presidential visit; no party is coming to the stadium with a logo or party slogan of anything. It is just a simple Presidential visit. If they don’t understand they should go and find out what a Presidential visit is and what it entails.”
The declaration comes on a day the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) threatened President Buhari against his planned visit to the South East, saying there will be bloodshed.
Except for any last minute change of plans, Buhari is scheduled to visit Ebonyi through Enugu on November 14, 2017 and Anambra on November 15.
However, the pro-Biafra group warned the president against the planned visit, saying that “Tuesday 14th November 2017 will be recorded in history as a very bloody day should that Jubril masquerading as Buhari attempt to land on Biafran soil.”
