Victoria Beckham's Royal Wedding 'sourpuss'

While she is famed for her moody pout, Victoria Beckham's trademark scowl led to outrage on Saturday as she attended The Royal Wedding.

After coming under fire for her straight face, the pop star turned fashion designer has now addressed the issue when she took to Instagram on Friday morning to claim she was 'smiling on the inside' when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot. 

The 44-year-old Spice Girls star posed in a £175 sweatshirt from her own range, with a slogan adorned across the front reading: 'It's a dark but happy place', before insisting she was 'smiling on the inside' - seemingly hinting at the wedding.

Victoria and her husband David, were dressed to impress as they attended Prince Harry's wedding to former actress Meghan, now named the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, held at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Having clearly loved the wedding, she took to Twitter to write: 'Congratulations, an amazing day. So proud to be British! Thank you so much for including @davidbeckham and I. We are so honoured and so happy for you both. x vb.'

Despite enjoying the big day, as she was headed into the church in her deep navy ensemble - which had also come under fire as it was claimed she looked as though she was attending a funeral - she failed to crack a smile. 

It took until Friday for the star to address her straight-faced appearance as she took to Instagram with the tongue-in-cheek post, which not only used her trademark hilarious wit but also promoted her eponymous fashion line.
