Nas Releases New Kanye West-Produced Album, ‘Nasir’

Veteran US rapper, Nasir Jones, better known by his stage name Nas, has released details about his new album Nasir, which was being unveiled on Thursday at a listening party in Queens tonight near Queensbridge Park.
The highly-anticipated seven-track LP, which is Nas’ 11th studio album, was executive produced by Kanye West.
The new album is a follow-up to his 2012’s Life Is Good.

The project is also the latest of Kanye West’s productions, which include ye, Pusha T‘s DAYTONA and the collaborative Kid Cudi and Yeezy Kids See Ghosts album.
Nas and Kanye have collaborated in the past, most recently joining forces on French Montana’s track “Figure It Out.”

On the first track of Nasir, Nas speaks on various U.S. presidents, rapping, “Abe Lincoln did not free the enslaved/Progress was made.“
The second track of Nasir appears to feature a sample of Slick Rick’s “Children’s Story” and a verse from Kanye West.
While on the fourth track, Nas raps in French, “Laissez le bon temps rouler” (“Let the good times roll”).
Earlier this week, Kanye posted a round of tweets announcing his involvement on what will be Nas’ twelfth  studio album.
We’re here creating in real time just having fun. I hear the albums blasting out of the cars when I walk down the street. Kids come up to me and tell me their favorite songs. We’re experimenting with new sounds structures and ideas.
