Photo of Ant McPartlin holding a baby sends fans wild

Declan Donnelly welcomed his baby daughter Isla just over a week ago.

But some overexcited fans caused a photo to go viral over the weekend after mistaking a five-year-old snap of the new dad with his presenting partner Ant McPartlin for the moment Ant met Isla.

A fan account for Ant and Dec shared a 2013 photo of the TV duo with a baby with the caption: 'When ant meets baby Isla, gonna be most emotional moment ever.'

The snap sees a besotted Ant cradling a baby, as a smiling Dec looks over his pal's shoulder.


The photo confused some fans, as they assumed the baby was Dec's daughter Isla.

'Uncle Ant, SOOOOOOOO bloody cute!!!' gushed one fan.

But the photograph was actually taken in 2013 when the duo became patrons of Newcastle's Freeman Children's Heart Unit. 

Dec's first child was born on September 1, with Isla and her mother, Dec's wife Ali Astall, seen leaving hospital a week later. 

Ant was pictured at the hospital a day after the birth, after tweeting: ‘Welcome to the world, baby Isla Elizabeth Anne. Can’t wait for cuddles. I love you already! Uncle Ant xxxxx’.
