Ariana Grande slams ex Pete Davidson for 'clinging to relevancy' in a series of damning tweets

Ariana Grande has furiously hit back at ex-fiancé Pete Davidson's jab about their brief engagement in a series of damning tweets.

After Saturday Night Live star Pete, 24, referenced their whirlwind romance in a promotional clip for the NBC comedy show, the No Tears Left To Cry hitmaker, 25, shot back with a scathing message for her ex.

The singer raged: 'For somebody who claims to hate relevancy you sure love clinging to it huh,' before adding, 'thank you, next' and 'hell naw tho'.

The clip released on Thursday featured Pete alongside actor Jonah Hill, 34, who will be the host, and Maggie Rogers, 24, who will be the musical guest on the program.

In the video, Pete said: 'Hey Maggie, I'm Pete. You wanna get married?' which she declined.

Pete then said '0-for-three' - a sly allusion to his called-off engagement with the pop star.

Pete has previously dated Cazzie David, daughter of comedy icon Larry David, as well as comic Carly Aquilino, though it was not immediately clear if there were engagements in either of those relationships.

Ariana and Pete called time on their relationship in October after four months together; the pair got engaged just four weeks into their romance.
