A schoolgirl died when she sleepwalked into her bedroom wardrobe and accidentally hanged herself, an inquest heard.
Hazel Georgina Bradley, 13, had a history of sleepwalking and was scared of her wardrobe after watching the cartoon movie Monsters, Inc.
The talented musician hugged and kissed her mother goodnight before going to bed on May 23.
But her father found her body dressed in her school uniform and hanged in her wardrobe the following morning.
A coroner ruled her death was an accident after her parents told police they were certain she had been sleepwalking.
Her mother Rebecca, 43, said she had a 'lovely chat' with Hazel around 9.20pm on the night of May 23.
Mrs Bradley said Hazel had 'issues with her wardrobe' because of a 'childhood obsession' with the 2001 film Pixar Monsters, Inc in which characters emerge through closet doors to scare children.
At 6.45am Hazel's father Graham, 44, found her hanged in her school uniform at their home in Caerphilly, south Wales.
The 13-year-old's mother said in a statement: 'She always had to have the wardrobe door shut.
'Hazel had issues with wardrobes, so I am convinced she was sleepwalking. She had so much to live for.'
