Harry Potter fans have expressed their shock at discovering Rupert Grint's girlfriend Georgia Groome starred in the 2008 coming of age comedy, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. 

The couple have been together for seven years, but it appears many enthusiasts have only just realised the 26-year-old's acting history. 

Disbelief was first sparked among admirers after a fan tweeted last week: ‘I was today years old when I found out Georgia from Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging has been going out with Ron Weasley since 2011 ????.'

Shocked Twitter users took to their accounts to question how they were only just finding out about Rupert's girlfriend's acting role.

One wrote: 'Wow I’m shocked, I didn’t realise Rupert Grint was dating Georgia from Angus, Thongs and perfect snogging wow!'

While another said: 'Wait. Georgia from Angus Thongs is dating Rupert Grint?!!? What have I missed??'
