News of the hottest new celebrity engagement has not escaped former US president Barack Obama.
The 57-year-old took the time to pen a special letter of congratulations to Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez this week, just days after the former pro baseball player, 43, popped the question to musician J-Lo, 49.
Written on special letter headed paper, the handwritten note was even complete with a personal tip for a long-lasting marriage.
Obama wrote: 'Michelle and I just wanted to congratulate you on your engagement.
'After 26 years together, we can say that whatever challenges life may bring, sharing them with someone you love makes it all better. All the best, Barack Obama.'
Delighted with the very special post, A-Rod shared a picture of the letter straight away on Twitter writing: 'This means the world to us.'
Michelle and Barack have been married since 1992 after meeting in their mid-20s at a US law firm.
The Obamas call a number of notable Hollywood power couples their friends, including The Carters (Beyonce and Jay-Z), The Clooneys (George and Amal) and The Wests (Kim and Kanye).
Barack is a big baseball fan but is known to the Chicago White Sox, while Rodriguez is best known for playing for the New York Yankees.
But Barack 'hung out' with Lopez and Rodriguez at MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference last February.
