[BREAKING] New Cabinet List: Buhari Meets Ambode Behind Closed Doors

As speculation over the new cabinet list increases, President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Akinwunmi Ambode met behind closed doors on Monday.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday also met separately behind closed doors with Governors Samuel Ortom, Benue, and Nasir El-Rufa’i of Kaduna, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Though Ambode told State House correspondents that he was in the villa to thank the president for his visit to Lagos State in April where he inaugurated several projects, our correspondent gathered that the visit was a means to lobby for a slot in the new cabinet.
Sources close to the Governor said that there is a likelihood that President Buhari may appoint Ambode.

“When the APC primary in Lagos State almost affected the chances of the President from winning, it was Ambode that they used as a sacrificial lamb. The President promised the Governor that he will be well compensated if he steps down, and the Governor did. So, we are awaiting the compensation,” a source close to the Governor added.
When asked if that was what took Ambode to Aso-Rock on Monday, the source said: “It is possible. If it is not, it is a way to remind the President of his promise.”
Independent Online earlier reported that one outgoing Governor is currently being considered as a member of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s new cabinet.

This has, however, thrown confusion into the camp of Babatunde Raji Fashola, whom many believed performed convincingly.
