Eden Hazard to ditch No 10 shirt as he follows in footsteps of Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid new boy Eden Hazard has ditched his No 10 shirt in favour of the historic Los Blancos No 7 jersey.

The ex-Chelsea star completed his £150million move to the Bernabeu on Friday evening.

The Spanish giants signed the Belgium international on a five-year contract and will be officially unveiled on June 13.

The legends to have worn the No 7 shirt at Madrid includes the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Raul.

Mariano currently wears the top but it looks like he will have to choose another number now to make way for Real's latest Galactico.

Hazard posted a goodbye message to Blues fans after the deal was completed.

The Belgium international said: 'I hope you understand I had to pursue my next chapter, just as each and every one of you should when you have the chance to pursue your dreams.

Leaving Chelsea is the biggest and toughest decision in my career to date. Now it's in the open I would like to put on record one thing was always clear to me, I have loved every moment at Chelsea and not once did I ever consider, nor would I have left for any other Club.

'Even when we were not playing well, I tried to do my best and this has been thanks to your amazing support.

'That fighting spirit, desire and the refusal to ever give up is part of the culture here at Chelsea and it comes directly from you.'
