Manchester United 'ready to pay David de Gea huge £20m golden handshake'

Manchester United are willing to pay David de Gea £20million if he moves to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to The Sun.

It is understood the Red Devils directors are likely to accept any bid above £60m from the Ligue 1 champions.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper intends to run down the final year of his contract and pick from an array of interested clubs next summer.

However, United's investors do not want to see one of the club's most valuable assets leave for free.

United are likely to offer the Spaniard up to £20m as a golden handshake in order to cash in on the shot-stopper before his deal expires.

De Gea knows he is in line to be offered a lucrative contract from his next club if there is no transfer fee to be paid.

He is thought to be happy to continue to represent United next season unless he is paid to move on.

Sources suggest a compromise can be reached, and De Gea is the leading candidate to become PSG No 1 after the departure of Gianluigi Buffon.
