Liverpool are obviously desperate to keep hold of one of their attacking stars though and would command a hefty transfer fee to even consider his sale.
Therefore, according to the Daily Express, Real are said to be willing to use Asensio as a makeweight in a bid to try and bring Mane to the Bernabeu.
Real are willing to allow Asensio, 23, to leave the club this summer as he has failed to kick on since arriving from Mallorca in 2014.
The £85million rated Spanish international is also believed to be a target for Tottenham this summer.
Speaking ahead of the Champions League final against Spurs on June 1, Mane was quick to dismiss claims he could depart Anfield.
'This is part of football so we have to deal with it,' Mane said of the rumours. 'For me the most important thing is Liverpool and I'm happy here.
'I'm preparing for one of the biggest games for the club and the fans and the players as well so let's focus on this one first and win it.
'It's always a pleasure that this kind of team wants you but don't forget Liverpool. They beat big teams.'
