Chelsea boss Frank Lampard 'gave David Luiz a b******ing'

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard reportedly laid into David Luiz over his pre-season performances before selling him to Arsenal.

The 32-year-old, who originally featured in Lampard's plans, was allowed to leave for Premier League rivals Arsenal in an £8million deal on deadline day.

Luiz, who made his debut for the Gunners in their 2-1 victory against Burnley last weekend, has made a quick impression at his new club but Lampard was furious with how he played in pre-season - which played a factor in his move away.

The Brazilian received an ear-bashing off Lampard during the 5-3 win against Red Bull Salzburg last month.

According to the Independent, the ex-Derby gaffer gave Luiz a 'b******ing* over his display, which created a tension between the two men.

They claimed that Lampard and Luiz were more than happy to part ways when Arsenal came knocking late in the window.

Commenting on how the move materialised, Luiz told ESPN Brasil: 'In talks with Frank [Lampard], he had a different plan for the year. So we spoke in total honesty and he made it clear that he had different ideas from mine.
