Man Fined $3000 For Filming Neighbor’s Daughter While She Was Bathing

A  33-year-old man from Luanga Terrace who filmed his teenage neighbor’s daughter bathing was slapped with a ZWL$3 000 fine for criminal insult.

iHarare established from The Herald that Devine Chiwona was busted after he was caught filming his neighbor’s daughter with a phone whilst she was bathing in Harare’s Avenues area.

Chiwona, pleaded guilty to criminal insult when he appeared before magistrate Yeukai Chigodora.

It is the State’s case that on the 9th of February 2021 at around 11 am, the complainant ( whose name has been withheld for legal reasons) was taking a bath when she noticed a reflection on the window.

At first, she ignored the reflection but later on to her dismay she discovered that there was someone who was filming her ‘bathing episode’.

The teenager quickly alerted her mother who caught Chiwona red-handed with a phone in his hand.

The teenager’s mother confronted Chiwona and quizzed him on what he was doing.

Busted in the act, Chiwona failed to give an explanation of what he was doing with his phone.

She also asked Chiwona to play the video which proved that he was filming the teenage girl while bathing.

However, in his defense, Chiwona blamed his actions on the phone which he said developed a problem on its camera and started recording on its own after he dropped it.

The mother immediately filed a report to the nearest Police station leading to Chiwona’s arrest.
