UK Based Nurse Dies, Hubby Who Died In December Yet To Be Buried As Tragedy Hits Family

A crowdfunding campaign has been set up for a UK based Zimbabwean family which suffered a massive tragedy after both husband and wife died within months.

Helen Mugadza who was employed as a nurse died on 20 January 2021 in the intensive therapy unit (ITU) at a hospital in the United Kingdom. The cause of death was not revealed but she is said to have passed on peacefully in the hospital.

Helen’s death came barely a month after her husband also died at the hospital. He died on Christmas Day and is reported to have fought for his life as well.

Unfortunately, at the time of Helen’s death, the husband was yet to be buried.

A funeral fund has now been set up to raise funds for Helen Mugadza’s funeral. The crowdfunding campaign was set up by Tina Ndambakuwa on 25 January 2021 and is aiming to raise £6,000.

At the time of publishing, the campaign had raised £2,370.  In her appeal for financial assistance for the deceased nurse, Ndambakuwa wrote,

It is with a heavy heart that we let you know that Helen Mugadza passed peacefully on
20/01/2021 after fighting for her life in ITU.

Some of you have already reached out asking how you can help us during this time. As some of you might not be aware, Helen’s husband also passed on, on Christmas Day after fighting for his life as well, and we are yet to bury him.

Know that your kindness is greatly appreciated as we go through this heartbreaking moment. We kindly ask, if you are able to, to donate funds towards the funeral service as we hope to carry out all of Helen’s final wishes.

Donations can be sent to- R .J Stevens Sort 77-13-08 A/c 09931762
