FCT Council Polls: PDP in early lead as AMAC resumes collation


 The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) appears to be coasting to victory in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) at the just concluded FCT Council elections.

At the resumption of votes collation at the Local Government centre Sunday morning, the PDP lead in 10 out of 11 Council Wards collated.

The breakdown of the votes for AMAC chairmanship as returned from each ward are as follows:

As of the time of filing this report, the results from Kabusa Ward was being expected.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Saturday, 12th February 2022, conducted elections into 6 Chairmanship seats and 62 Councillorship seats across the 6 Area Councils of the FCT.
