‘The Vampire Diaries’ Ending After Season 8 — Ian Somerhalder Confirms

It’s time to put Mystic Falls behind for good — at least it sounds that way. Ian Somerhalder just revealed that season 8 of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ would be the last.
“We have decided to do one last season to really do the story justice,” Ian Somerhalder announced at Walker Stalker Con in Nashville on April 10. This comes right on the heels of Kat Graham announcing season eight would be her last.
