Pope @ 80: Kalu felicitates with Catholic community

Eminent businessman and former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has felicitated with the Catholic community all over the world on the occasion of Pope Francis’s 80th birthday. According to Kalu, who is also a Catholic, Pope Francis is a reference and rallying point not only to Catholics but Christians in general, adding that the Pope has contributed immensely to global peace through his counsel on conflict resolution.
In a goodwill message to the Nigerian catholic community, Kalu said, “I join other Christians in celebrating Pope Francis who clocked 80 on Saturday.
The Pontiff remains a shining light in the world owing to his commitment to the uplift of the society.
Pope Francis has through his selflessness and large-heart  impacted lives positively.
The former governor while acknowledging  the relentless efforts in steering the affairs of Catholics, noted that Pope Francis is following the footsteps of Pope Francis of Assisi, who shunned wealth to live in poverty like common people.

He urged other religious leaders to emulate the exceptional way of life of Pope Francis.
Kalu prayed God to continue to give the Pontiff sound health in the service of God and humanity.
