NYSC: Corps Members’ Allowance Increase From N19k To N48,900 – What We Know So Far
The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) seems to have dismissed a report that is stirring controversy on the internet that it will be increasing the allowance of corps members from N19k To N48,900.
A twitter handle, APC Newspaper, which claims to be a social media mouthpiece for the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC), on Monday, August 6, alleged that the President Muhammdu Buhari led government has raised corps members’ allowance to N49,800.
A curious twitter user subsequently tweeted at the official Twitter handle of the Scheme to confirm the veracity of the APC Newspaper’s tweet about the allowance increase and @officialnysc replied saying it is a rumour.

Moments after replying the Twitter user who sought to confirm the rumour, the @officialnysc immediately deleted the tweet.
While it remains speculations, bear in mind that the Director-General of the scheme, Brig Gen Suleiman Kazaure, last week said the President Buhari led Government has begun an upward review of the N19, 800 monthly allowance paid to corpers.
