How do new-boys Lampard and Solskjaer outwit the old masters?

The Premier League is finally back and it promises to be another thrilling season at both ends of the table.

Manchester City just edged Liverpool in a cat and mouse title race last season, but it could easily be a role reversal this time around.

Then there's the scramble for the other two Champions League spots with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United fighting it out.

At the bottom, the likes of Sheffield United, Norwich, Brighton, Aston Villa and Newcastle are likely to be in the dogfight to avoid relegation.

Sportsmail's team of experts have made their picks for the season ahead.

Champions – Liverpool
Rest of top four – Man City, Tottenham, Chelsea
Relegated – Norwich, Sheffield United, Brighton
FA Cup – Chelsea
League Cup – Tottenham
Promoted – Fulham, West Brom, Leeds
Champions League – Man City

I'm expecting another tight two-horse race for the title, but this time I think Liverpool have an edge on Manchester City.
The reason for that is Pep Guardiola has lost Vincent Kompany while Jurgen Klopp has Virgil van Dijk, the best defender in the world. The 28-year-old is a leader at the back for Liverpool and could prove the difference.
Still, City fans will be pleased to know I'm backing Guardiola to guide them to glory in the Champions League – a competition we know he is craving to win.
I've then gone for Tottenham and Chelsea to finish third and fourth respectively.
